VIDEO: Banner Health uses new program to cut unnecessary ER visits and wait times

PHOENIX – Banner Health will soon implement a program at all of its facilities to help cut unnecessary emergency room visits. The program is called MyHealthDirect. It’s an online network which allows hospitals to immediately book appointments at low-cost clinics and with primary care physicians around the Valley. The program was tested at Banner Estrella Medical Center, in Avondale, this past year. Kimberly Norman, a social worker with Banner Estrella, uses the tool on a daily basis. She says uninsured patients visit the ER because they don’t have access to primary care. Read More Here.
